How many U.S. related pix in Yahoo's Olympic photo coverage?
In one particular Yahoo news photo album covering the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremonies, out of 186 photos, precisely FOUR were U.S. related, and only two of those were team pictures taken inside the 'Birds nest' stadium!!! (and yes, I did scroll through the entire 186 pictures)
Picture 64 - first U.S. related picture of a female celebrant, with her face painted half with half U.S. flag, half China flag
Picture 81 – 4 U.S. revelers in the streets
Pictures 85 / 86 – the only 2 pictures of the U.S. team from inside the stadium
I realize this is the Olympics, and it's supposed to be about 'global unity' and all that, but Yahoo and Getty Images are AMERICAN companies, residing in the U.S., and as such, should probably have given the U.S. a little more coverage at the Olympics. But that, of course, would imply that they are proud of their own country. But silly me!
President Bush was there, and we all know how much the rest of the world loves him, though I haven't yet read of any booing by other Olympic attendees.
