Throughout the centuries, Catholic dogma and traditions have taken so many liberties and have become so far removed up from what true Biblical scripture is, that their collective mindset has become completely warped about what is--or is not--the "true church."
According to the Bible, the "church" is the collective body of true believers in Jesus Christ, not a mere religion of the lineage of one of the disciples (Peter), or the word of a mere man (pope) whose words are at times held in even higher esteem than those of God Himself! Along with changing the 10 Commandments, the whole issue with Mary, praying the rosary, "transmutation" of the host, repetitive meaningless prayer, not eating meat on Fridays, its long and corrupted history, and a litany (no pun in tended) of other man-made traditions, the Catholic church as done much to send millions, if not billions, of souls to hell!
As well, the Catholic church may indeed be the "harlot" who sits on the beast, as described in the book of Revelation. She wears scarlet and purple, the colors of catholic cardinals and bishops, and will probably also be hand-in-hand with the anti-christ and the false prophet, since the church has always been both political and religious (the Vatican being its own nation-state). The "harlot" may be akin to Europa on the bull, an image already being used by the European union on coins, in documents and other areas of the marketplace (Europa is a goddess of Babylonian origin; the bull, which was the god Jupiter in disguise, carried her away, and then later on threw her off his back and raped her).
