Interesting that the description of the Islamic Mahdi sounds very much like the Biblical antichrist, doesn't it? 

Basically it's the Islamic counterfeit antichrist to the Biblical Jesus. Their savior is our antichrist.

And the Bible says that the Mahdi/antichrist will be defeated by Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.

Because he already has been...at the Cross.

Modern Popes have become more and more political throughout the decades. Today's Pope Francis is one of the most likeable of the modern popes. His friendly, charming personality draws people to him, and makes people want to listen to him.

But he's also said some rather controversial things such as THIS. Not only that, but the Vatican owns part of a huge observatory called--wait for it--LUCIFER! I'm not making this up. The Pope is also deft at blending global politics with religion, which is something that the False Prophet will also be extremely (supernaturally!) adept at being inclusionary with many religions...including Islam:

Scripture is very clear that during the Tribulation, the Antichrist will rule the world government, and the False Prophet will lead the one world religion. The False Prophet may indeed be the Pope, due to his influence on the world's religions, not only just Catholicism. In fact, everyone around the world will be forced to become part of this one world religion, and he will use supernatural "signs and wonders" to do it. This will be one of the greatest deceptions ever perpetrated on humankind. The world will follow the Antichrist and his "sidekick" the False Prophet, because of these signs and wonders, but this will all be clothed with the offer of a better, more fantastic way of life, along with a religion that all will find irresistable.
