As
the "veil" between our world and the spiritual (e.g., the real world) is becoming thinner, and
we get ever closer to the time of the end, Satan's influence and sway is
becoming felt more and more. But because he's nothing more than ego and pride, bent on his own glorification, it seems as if he no longer cares who
sees his hand in things; in fact, he seems to be doubling down on his bet! If we think the whole "selfie" industry is bad, just wait till this guy gets into office; it will be all pride, all boasting, all ego, all day, 24/7/365.
Years ago, I saw the movie Idiocracy (highly recommended; it's a comedy that's since become a documentary!). Written by Mike Judge, who created "King of the Hill," it shows a potential dystopian future, after society has become nothing more than slothful and imbecilic entropy, due to the influence of product advertisers and marketers. But then, all you have to do is look around to realize…it’s already here. In fact, in many ways, we've surpassed it (I'm looking at you, out-of-control college campuses)

God tells us that during the end times the world will be gripped by deceptions large and small. Deception today is positively de rigueur, especially where the media is concerned. Gone are the days of cold, pure, objective news; in its place we have news outlets who are so blatantly left-leaning, that entirely new types of media have been created in order to combat this imbalance (with not the best results). The news media, television and cable broadcasters, and social media, are continually pushing their Godless, debauched, leftist agenda, and many times, it's being done in such an insidious way that unless you are really looking for it, you won't see it: The breakdown of the traditional family. The hard push for the LGBTQ agenda (mind you, they are less than 5% of the population!). The transhumanist agenda. Wanton celebration of abortion (one, two). Anti-white, anti-male, pro-feminist programming. The immigration/open borders agenda. The blindness to the blatant evils of Islam. And the lists goes on and on and on. The deception seems to be here already!
So just where is all of this PP leading? Basically it's to dull our senses to the things to come. To lull us into thinking--like a jaded teen--nothing more than a: "oh yeah, I've seen that before. Cool." Then go right back to looking at their phone. Mindless sheep. Remember, in typical "predictive programming" fashion, what is acknowledged to the public by these outlets usually means that in reality, they are actually 10-30 years ahead of what they tell us. They're only telling us what's coming more or less as a type of "warning system" to the sleeping masses. So anything and everything related to technology should be taken with a grain (or a shaker) of salt, as well as being sure to read between the lines whenever some "expert" gives his or her schpiel over the most recent technological marvel.
In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 God warns us why He will send us this great deception: "They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness." That's a sobering and terrifying thought - for that those who refuse the love of God, who mock and ridicule him (just like what's happening today) God will then wash His hands of them and turn them over to the depravity they desire, followed by an eternity in hell.
While God is a God of second, third, fourth (and even more) chances, His attempt to reach out with His grace and mercy toward an unbeliever won't last forever. There will come a time when God stops knocking on the door of an unbeliever's heart—knocking that becomes progressively louder over time—and the door will be shut. But if we hear that knock, and come to Him to acknowledge that we are sinners, and if we accept his FREE gift of forgiveness, and turn away from our formerly sinful life to live for Him, then He is faithful to fulfill His promise of eternal life! (and unlike human beings, God never renegs on His promises).
