Whether the Illuminati really exist or not, I do believe there's an elite, ruling society that has its hands in nearly everything that goes on in this world: politics, real estate, food industry, chemical industry, water industry, music & entertainment industry, security industry, etc. However, as an actual real entity the "Illuminati" was indeed formed in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt, and it's a group that has seemingly continued to this very day.
