See...this is how it starts.

...the Pentagon is developing a prototype database to seek "patterns indicative of terrorist activity."

They say it's for terrorist activities. They say it's to keep the country safe. But somewhere along the line, someone will make the decision that it would be a good thing to start tracking every purchase by every person, everywhere, and not necessarily as a anti-terrorism tool. Just because things need to be tracked. And then eventually, this will morph into the ability to lock out some of those purchases from various people...unless they have a particular "mark."

Mark my words. This is very scary stuff indeed.
