ICLEI is the trickled-down, "local" arm of Agenda 21/2030 global sustainability from the Earth Summit (UN Conference on Environment and Development) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992, participated in by the following countries:
Agenda 21/2030 is made more palatable by using hip terminology such as "SmartGrowth."
Here at the local level we are seeing more and more of these giant sprawling "urban" apartment complexes being built, with high "walk scores," but extremely low "escapability" scores.
