More on Sarah Palin as VP choice

Well, talk about pulling the rug out from under the Dems...I guess "maverick" McCain wanted to say: "hey, I can make just as historical of a choice as you," especially since choices like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty were out of the running. It's good to know that McCain can still think outside the box when it comes to the "good old boy" network of politics. That says a lot about him.

SOOO much to say about his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate! She seems at first like the antithesis of McCain, but the fact that she's a woman AND conservative is sure to rattle a few nerves (esp. with the feminists) I'm thinking it will be like another case of Charles and Diana. He may be the "chosen one," but he'll no doubt be eclipsed by her, because she's better looking, seems more likeable, more approachable, all the stuff he is not. And...is she actually taller than him? :) (might be that hair) Plus her eldest son is serving in the military, she's got a hottie for a hubbie, and just how stinkin cute is her family? (that little Piper is adorable!)

As well here as other photos of Sarah Palin and her family.

So here's the good (and funny) stuff:
  • She has a strong anti-abortion record (she is quoted saying in 2002 that she is as "pro-life as any candidate can be.") w00t!
  • She actually sold the private plane of her predecessor...on eBay no less! Go girl!
  • She has a long history of run-ins with the Alaska GOP hierarchy, giving her genuine maverick status and reformer credentials that could complement McCain's image.
  • She has experience as both a mayor AND a governor, along with an unheard of 90% state approval rating, UNLIKE Barak Obama, who has only been a senator for what, 200 days or something?
  • After she was made head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, she exposed ethical violations by the state GOP chairman, a fellow commissioner, who then resigned.
  • Her husband is a blue-collar North Slope oil worker who competes in the Iron Dog.
  • Four months into her most recent pregnancy, Palin learned the child would have Down syndrome, but she never had any doubts about whether she would have the baby.
  • She is a proponent of petroleum development as well as other types of energies
  • She favors drilling in ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge)
  • Her kids have fun funky names: Track, 19 (as in "...and Field"); Bristol 17; Willow 14; Piper, 7, and baby Trig (as in "...onometry").
  • Track enlisted in the Army in 2007 on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks
  • She is a member of Feminists for Life
  • She led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at her high school
  • She is a lifelong member of the NRA!
  • She has a fishing license
  • She's healthy - jogs and exercises a lot
  • She eloped with her high school sweetheart, Todd Palin, in 1988 to save money on an expensive wedding! (she's a gal after my Dad's heart, that's for sure)
  • Personally, just the fact that she has a husband, FIVE children, and runs a huge state is almost enough management and multi-tasking experience to make me think that being VP would be a piece of cake for her. :)

And the odd stuff:

  • She was (or is) being investigated about the firing of the guy who did not fire her former brother in law (who was married to her sister), while her sister and brother in law were embroiled in a messy divorce. Hmm.
  • At 44, Palin is a generation younger than two of McCain's seven children
  • She is considerably younger than Sen. Joseph Biden
  • She is also three years younger than Obama.
  • She's typically seen walking the Capitol halls in black or red power suits while reading text messages on Blackberry screens in each hand.
  • She made a recent appearance in fashion magazine Vogue
  • *UPDATE* - her eldest daughter Bristol is 5 months pregnant. :(
I like her already. I just hope that life inside the Washington beltway doesn't change her or sulley her in any way...though I'm not holding my breath on that. Washington is a virtual cesspool, or should I say tarpit, and it seems that everyone who sticks their toes into it gets sucked down into the morass.

McCAIN / PALIN IN 2008!!!

Does religion play too much into politics?

Personally, I don't believe it plays into it enough. I also think that politics in general is the work of Satan; I have never known of anyone in politics who has not been sullied in some way by their life in politics. And in spite of what Barack Obama says about "fixing broken politics" in Washington, at this point, there's no such thing as "fixing" it...the entire political structure is broken beyond repair, and NO MATTER WHO is in office, it cannot, and will not, be fixed, without the cleansing power of Christ, which means everyone in politics would have to be followers of Christ. And we all know that will never happen when there is freedom of choice and sinfulness involved.

However some people have created a "manifesto" about religion and politics:

http://www.anevangelicalmanifesto.com/

Of course, there is always a rebuttal:

http://www.cwfa.org/articles/15163/BLI/dotcommentary/index.htm

I think I'm actually excited now about the elections!

The more I read about VP pick Sarah Palin (governor of Alaska) the more excited I'm getting.

Wouldn't it be great if the MSM could not dig up any dirt on this woman?

Of course that would never happen, because they would then simply make up stuff.

But this definitely puts a whole new spin on the 2008 elections, WOW!

McCain's VP choice is historic and hardly known

WOW. Talk about a jaw-dropper indeed! McCain, known for being a maverick has made quite a maverick decision in his choice of a Vice Presidential running mate!

Some very interesting points from the article:

Palin, who led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at her high school, could help McCain's standing with social conservatives who have been skeptical of him.

"It's an absolutely brilliant choice," said Mathew Staver, dean of Liberty University School of Law and founder of the legal group Liberty Counsel, who has sought to coalesce evangelicals around McCain. "This will absolutely energize McCain's campaign and energize conservatives."

Palin is "a woman of faith who has a strong position on life, a consistent opinion on judges," Staver said. "She's the complete package."

But Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York said McCain was taking a "roll of the dice" and declared that Palin's "lack of experience makes the thought of her assuming the presidency troubling."

Uh...Senator Schumer? Don't EVEN go there. You have nothing to say to that when your own candidate has an extremely limited background of his own. The lack of experience of one Barack Obama is limited to less than 200 days as a senator. So don't play that card.

If I can be so chauvenistic, she is nice looking, always a plus. :)

Blinding array of stars gather at DNC

This is MUCH of what's wrong with the Democratic party and Obama in particular.

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20080828/D92RJNBO0.html

We saw this with Bill Clinton too. The Dems are too close to Hollyweird, which is overly biased to the left, and overtly fawned over by the MSM, so in effect, there's little to no objectivity at all when it comes to the Democratic party.

HOWEVER, the GOP will have its own array of stars, albeit not quite as 'shiny' as those for the DNC.

Bankruptcies Soar for Senior Citizens

Yet another chip in the financial wall.

Add this to the growing number of banks that are on shifting sand, the downturn in the economy, the overwhelming national debt, and the millions of people living on credit, and soon enough it will all come tumbling down and bury us!

Of course everyone is up in arms over this, but I've seen MUCH WORSE done with Bush's visage.

'Obsession' the movie

This is a movie that Obama, Biden, McCain and his running mate should ALL watch and heed the information in it.

True, not all Muslims are terrorists, but so far all terrorists have been Muslim.

Coincidence?

Would you like to play a game?

Gosh, has it really been 25 years since "War Games" came out?

I remember as I watched this movie I really got that nervous butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling watching WOPR (aka "Joshua") destroy the world, albeit virtually.

Seeing the movie with 2008 eyes (after forcing oneself to look beyond the fashions of the early 80s as well as Ally Sheedy's overacting), the movie holds up well. It still hits home today, what with the now-ubiquitous internet and the thousands of global guerilla-like hackers continuously bent on getting into any and every security system and wreaking havoc therein.

Personally, I have never understood that way of thinking, but then, my mama brought me up right. :)

I give the movie two thumbs up. Check it out.

The 'real' MLK?

While I agree that Dr. King was a great man, and did great and wonderful things, it seems the Left has ceremoniously used the legacy of Dr. King to their own advantage (especially where Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton *shudder*)

But was Dr. King really as 'great' as the the Left makes him out to be? There are many who think not:

Which, I'd just like to go ahead and say thank you to these companies--all of them--for glamorizing promiscuity with teens (they don't look old enough to be women--they barely look 18). Yay! That's not creepy at all! I mean, it's working! Look at the stats from the Texas Dept of State Health Services:

Every 10 minutes, a teen in Texas gets pregnant. Every 10 hours, a 14-year-old teen gets pregnant. Every 3 hours, a 15-year-old teen gets pregnant. Every 1.5 hours, a 16-year-old teen gets pregnant. Every 52 minutes, a 17-year-old-teen gets pregnant. Every 35 minutes, an 18-year-old teen gets pregnant. Every 28 minutes, a 19-year-old teen gets pregnant.

Convention should bring end to Obama-mania

I dunno. We can only hope and pray it is so. I have a feeling this may only fan the Obama fire in the eyes of the Dimmocrats.

IMO, I felt that the Saddleback church interviews really could have been more hard-hitting, and thought Rick Warren's approach was just a little too soft. However this below was very telling as far as where the candidates stand on abortion:

John McCain was, by comparison, twice as comfortable, twice as responsive and as such, at least twice as presidential...This placed Mr. Obama in a bind: How exactly do you sugarcoat a radical abortion rights stance in front of a staunch pro-life crowd? His chosen answer was to hem and haw for an uncomfortable spell, concluding eventually that the decision on when life begins is "above my pay grade."
-----
He [McCain] actually seems to be listening to the party base he once regularly alienated; witness the purging of the thoroughly unsatisfactory Tom Ridge from his running mate list last week. Witness his five-word answer to Rick Warren – "from the moment of conception" – that made the Obama answer on when life begins look like the tap-dancing of a very ordinary politician.

"Evangelist"?

No, this is merely a very sick man who used religion to get what he wanted for himself.

It's people like this who give Christianity a bad name, and it's people like this (and articles like this) that lead those who are not saved away from Christ! I mean, if I were unsaved and saw this article, I'd probably think, "there goes another wacked out religious nut."

Were he the leader of another type of group, I think it would be called a cult.

HORRIBLE decision

This move by Tyson Chicken is a very bad one, in my opinion.

New York's Society of Ethical Culture.

This is not a church, this is merely a group of people who get together to talk about things that make themselves feel good, with its members being agnostic, atheist, and humanist. Talk about a building full of SELF.

Seeking out real truth with all of your heart will never return void when it comes to God. However, merely belonging to a group that does nothing to seek or promote Truth, yet upholds humanistic (e.g, sinful and self-centered) values will do nothing to bring one to true salvation.

Most disturbing was the shot of the children whose parents are obviously members of this group.

"Modern Day Ninjas"

While the thought processes of these 2 "modern day ninjas" is commendable (to rid their community of drug dealers), these are young adult men who are stuck in "emotional immaturity" of living out their lives through comic books and anime, and are not in touch with reality.

"Ninjas" are for make-believe and dress up, and are not appropriate for real life.

Another disturbing symptom in a long list of what happens when someone has too much on their plate, too many things going on in their life, and too many thoughts on anything other than what should be their number one priority - their children.

Obama chooses Biden as running mate

Obama has chosen Joseph Biden (D - Delaware) as his 2008 running mate for VP.

However...Mr. Biden seems to have his own ideas about Obama himself:

Also, from other articles I've read about Biden, he may become a liability for the Obama campaign, as he's been known for his social gaffes and lack of tact. Check out the RNC's "Biden Gaffe Clock" based on Biden's seeming lack of tact in the public arena: here and here

Russia-Cuba Ties Seen as Warning to U.S.

While true communism is on the decline (look at the "new" China, and the Castro brothers in Cuba are knocking on death's door, while ravenous capitalists hover at the gates), Russia and Cuba have been communist allies for decades. What is coming out of our schools today?

THIS.

Even if this so called "art project" is fiction, it still shows the depth of depravity of many of the students coming out of our ivy-league colleges such as Yale (founded as a CHRISTIAN college, btw).

From the article:

Ms. Shvarts has long displayed a keen interest in issues relating to human reproduction. Her account of her first menstruation, "The Ming Period," appears on a Web site devoted to such stories, My1stPeriod.com. In 2006, a Yale journal published a photograph of one of her creations, "Disarticulation." The sculpture, said to be made from plaster, Vaseline, towels, rubber bands, and latex gloves, resembles male and female reproductive organs.

and

Ms. Shvarts also railed against those who take a narrow view of what constitutes art. "People have to stop being so dismissive about what art is. It has to stop hanging on the wall. It has to be something lived, breathed every day," she said.

Sounds like Ms. Schvarts is some kind of messed up. There are just certain things that will never, and should never, be considered art, no matter if art is "subjective." Interestingly, the "progressive art" world then responded with this:

After reading the story about artist Aliza Shvarts, i was so inspired, i made a piece named after her.

Aliza is a Yale art student that has created quite a controversy in the art world! i LOVE IT! (Does NOT come with chain)

p.s I was inspired by her and her courage to express herself. I was inspired by her dedication to her form of art. I AM NOT supporting abortion, nor do i support her self body mutilation. however i DO support having a voice and being HEARD!

i made this piece in response to Aliza Shvarts’s art piece/installation, to let her know, her voice has been heard!

Just when I thought I might be able to catch a breather once the hot Dallas summer is over, it looks like it won't be happening.

I live in a one-bedroom apartment with "den" (aka computer room), and am on the top floor of a 3-floor building. Between the relentless Texas sun, and rising heat from the rest of the building, I was in for a shock when I opened my latest electric bill.

It was over $300!!!

I about had puppies on the spot.

Now typically, off season (e.g., not summer), my electric bill runs about $75 - $100. That's doable. But this $300 a month stuff for my little abode about borders on insanity.

My dream is to build a zero-energy, high-efficiency house, where electric bills won't be a problem, but with expenditures like this, on top of $4.00/gal gas prices, and the soaring prices of food, HOW am I ever going to reach that goal in the first place?

Gas prices decline for 30th straight day

Until prices get down to around a dollar-something, $3.50 a gallon is actually not much better than $4.00 a gallon! In this way, it's all relative...they make us think we're getting some kind of bargain at $3.50 a gallon.

NOT.

How many U.S. related pix in Yahoo's Olympic photo coverage?

In one particular Yahoo news photo album covering the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremonies, out of 186 photos, precisely FOUR were U.S. related, and only two of those were team pictures taken inside the 'Birds nest' stadium!!! (and yes, I did scroll through the entire 186 pictures)

Picture 64 - first U.S. related picture of a female celebrant, with her face painted half with half U.S. flag, half China flag
Picture 81 – 4 U.S. revelers in the streets
Pictures 85 / 86 – the only 2 pictures of the U.S. team from inside the stadium

I realize this is the Olympics, and it's supposed to be about 'global unity' and all that, but Yahoo and Getty Images are AMERICAN companies, residing in the U.S., and as such, should probably have given the U.S. a little more coverage at the Olympics. But that, of course, would imply that they are proud of their own country. But silly me!

President Bush was there, and we all know how much the rest of the world loves him, though I haven't yet read of any booing by other Olympic attendees.

Genesis 1

20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."

24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Wretched Excess for sure

The TED conference: the 'new' Illuminati?

After all of the reading and research I have done on my own about the End Times, when I come across something like this, it makes me sit up and take notice.

This seems to be a group of people who are the embodiment of the leftist/socialist/utopian mindset, those who are blinded by the thought that technology and ideas--not religion, or God, per se--will be the salvation of the world. Unfortunately, they are sadly and eternally WRONG. This is the type of people who will welcome the anti-christ as 'savior', because he may use this very mode of thought and technology to rule the world, then turn against it (in the eyes of the TED conference, more/better technology is a good thing). Here is the list of the TED 'brain trust'. Their titles are very telling: futurist...genomics pioneer...visionary...psychologist...expert.

An interesting question on one of the TED links--and their very interesting answer.

Q: Is TED elitist?

A: That's a word to be very careful with. The answer is yes (in a good way), but also no.

Waitaminnit. "In a good way"? There's a good way to be elitist??? It continues:

It's certainly true that the majority of those attending the annual TED conference have been extremely successful in some field or other, and we wouldn't want it any other way. But financial success (which is what "elitism" sometimes implies) is not the key measure. TED attendees include thought leaders and innovators from a surprisingly broad range of endeavor: technology, entertainment, design, science, business, global issues, philanthropy and the arts. Because of their recognized achievements, most of these people can afford the $6,000 standard membership fee. Of course, we're still seeking to ensure that everyone who comes to TED is exceptional in some way.

(pay attention to this next statement very carefully)

In our minds, that is the real TED audience. A global community of knowledge-seekers.

Hmmm.

"In our minds."

"Global community."

Just let those two phrases sink in for a minute. Because those phrases are the very crux of what defines the Left, and colors their entire way of thinking. What they neglect to mention in their answer on elitism is not that the conference costs so much to attend, but that these are the people who look down on 'middle America' and those of a conservative, and moreover, Biblical mindset. 'Elitist' does not necessarily mean richer than another (although that's part of it), but means: 'I am better than you; I know better than you do; your ideas and thoughts are old, outdated and dangerous; therefore, you must be silenced, and for your own good, I must save you from yourself.'

I think our friend Merriam-Webster can help with this part:

Contempt: open dislike for someone or something considered unworthy of one's concern or respect

Quash / Quell: to put a stop to (something) by the use of force; to crush, put down, repress, silence, snuff (out), squash, squelch, subdue, suppress, extinguish, smother, stifle, strangle; annihilate, destroy, smash; exterminate, obliterate, wipe out; conquer, overcome, overwhelm, subjugate, vanquish; to silence.

Think I'll be keeping an eye on TED for some time to come.

DoubleplusUNgood!

Hey parents, there's a new school in town! Actually, it's in Calabasas, California. The New Village Academy is ready to fill the heads of your little angels with all sorts of new age thoughts and ideas! Methodologies used by the school include Montessori, Gardner, Bruner, and Study Technology*. Subjects included in the curriculum include Mathematics, literacy, Spanish, karate, yoga, robotics, technology, etiquette, art, and living skills. According to the school's 'Glossary of Educational Theories,' one of the [many off the wall] glossary terms is the one below. Let's take a closer look:

*Study Technology - An educational model developed by L.R. Hubbard, study technology focuses on three principles. First is the use of “mass” (manipulatives and hands-on experiences) to foster understanding – children need to see and feel what they are learning about. Second is the attention to the “gradient,” which ensures sure students master one level before moving on to the next. Third is the “misunderstood word,” in which students master word definitions and are taught not to read past words they don’t know the meanings of in order to understand completely what they are reading and learning. NVA uses study technology as an umbrella methodology woven through the subjects.

Hmm. "Developed by L.R. Hubbard." That's L. Ron Hubbard** the bad science fiction author, whose crazy adherents went on to found Scientology. Yep, they're now teaching Scientology to our kids. And why not? Many of the teachers at the school are Scientologists!

Under the school's 'Core Values' is this:

Equity:
1. No child should be denied access to equitable education based on race, income or religion. [this, of course, would only pertain to those religions not of the "Christian" variety]
2. Our students are “world citizens”, learning in an environment where no group comprises a majority or minority.

As well, all students will learn how to be good little communists:

Personal Excellence (note it says personal excellence, yet the descriptions below don't really demonstrate this)

1. An individual’s level of production is directly related to one’s relationship to oneself and one’s chosen group(s).
2. Individual success cannot be achieved without the support of the group(s).
3. The group’s success and progress is dependent on the initiative and participation of every member.
4. One must produce to be an effective member of the group.

And under their 'Leadership Development and Ethics' there is this:

From their first days on campus, students learn of the School’s expectations as outlined in the School’s 3 R’s.

The 3 R's? You mean, reading, writing and 'rithmetic? Oh no, not something as old and outdated as all that. No, these 3 R's are: Responsibility, Rights and Respect:

RESPONSIBILITY:
I am responsible for the words I use.
I am responsible for the behavior I display.
I am responsible for making the world a better place.

RIGHTS:
Everyone has the right to his or her own opinions and feelings. (except if you're a Christian)
Everyone has the right to be safe and happy.
Everyone has the right to learn with no distractions.

RESPECT:
Respect everyone.
Respect school property.
Respect the environment.

Now be a well-behaved little Goodthinker. Anyone not following this system will be guilty of Thoughcrime, and may be subject to becoming an Unperson, or worse yet, Room 101!

Have a doubleplusgood day!

**L. Ron Hubbard quote: "Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wanted to make a million dollars, the best way to do it would be start his own religion."

Model's Web rants pined for love

Supermodel Ruslana Korshunova poured her heart out on the Web in the months leading to her apparent suicide.

"Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably," the sandy-haired knockout wrote in a poem that concluded: "And never regret anything that made you smile."

The Kazakh beauty wrote that love "blinds," "sets souls afire," and "is always the answer" in emotion-soaked passages posted on a social networking site.

The soulful note warns of the perils of sacrifice.

"Love does not take away from one in order to give to another," wrote Korshunova, a 20-year-old thousands of miles from her native Kazakhstan. "Love - this is the essence of life. But you will not give your life to another."

Korshunova's most telling message came three months ago: "I'm so lost. Will I ever find myself?"

:(

Very sad indeed.

God help us if OBAMA is elected

I need to update one of my earlier posts from 2007: "God help us if Hillary is elected."

Well, we now know that Hillary is out of the running for President. It's now down to John McCain and Barak Obama, an equally frightening dilemma, IMHO. So here is the update: If Barak Obama is elected president, here are some things that very well might happen:

- Obama has a long history of cozying up to those who are socialist, radical and marxist/communistic. Undoubtedly, he would bring some of those thoughts and ideas to the political table. As well, Obama's own campaigners march along in lock step: like this, and THIS! Is it any wonder that American sovereignty may become threatened with him in office???

- Since the MSM are already Obama sycophants, he will use this to his advantage as much as possible. He may impose the 'Fairness Act' to control the media, specifically conservative news outlets, in order that any negativity spoken about him, his campaign, his family or his cabinet, get squelched. This will be a major blow to Freedom of Speech, something that the lefty liberals are forever screaming about themselves (but usually when it comes to outright treasonous* speech or the rights of pornographers).

- The US will remove its troops from Iraq and then sit down with radical Islamist as well as Communist countries — with no preset conditions — to discuss how the United States of America can best acquiesce to their demands. NOTE: Remember — within extremist Islam, diplomacy is considered a weakness!

- As well, U.S. national sovereignty may be abolished, and the US may be forced to become aligned with UN global mandates.

- Gay rights will be promoted as normal and natural. The traditional (God-given!) idea of marriage will become a grayer and grayer area.

- Illegal immigration will be promoted by doing nothing about it; or there may be some type of "virtual fence" for show, with the incursion of terrorists, drug dealers and other illegal aliens will continuing non-stop.

- The 'green' way of life may be shoved down our throats even more than it is already, especially if Algore can get his hypocritical, carbon-footprinted foot in the door.

- The U.S. will offer assistance to help the Palestinian state; Israel will be quashed

- National health care may be forced upon us. This is especially true if Hillary Clinton gets her claws into Obama as either VP, or in some cabinet position during his presidency.

- Even though Obama professes himself to be a Christian, after his 20+ year association with the Trinity United Church of Christ led by its white man hating, racist pastor, Jeremiah Wright, true Christianity itself will be called 'hate speech' and may even threaten pastors giving sermons in their own churches. This, of course, will not extend to 'religions' such as Islam, Wicca, atheism, or paganism.

- Also, with Obama's skewed version of Christianity, abortion will remain legal.

These are just a few issues that I can come up with, but you can be sure that any new ones will be added here in the future!

Big brother: I can seeee you!

This is one time I actually agree with the ACLU...tho I can't believe they aren't raising more of a stink over this one:

While it allows the security screeners -- looking at the images in a separate room -- to clearly see the passenger's sexual organs as well as other details of their bodies, the passenger's face is blurred, TSA said in a statement on its website.

"People have no idea how graphic the images are," [said] Barry Steinhardt, director of the technology and liberty program at the American Civil Liberties Union.

The ACLU said in a statement that passengers expecting privacy underneath their clothing "should not be required to display highly personal details of their bodies such as evidence of mastectomies, colostomy appliances, penile implants, catheter tubes and the size of their breasts or genitals as a pre-requisite to boarding a plane."

Besides masking their faces, the TSA says on its website, the images made "will not be printed stored or transmitted."

Oh really? Come on, we're not that stupid. We know this technology will become corrupted. We know the scanners will be laughing, talking about people, comparing people, making jokes about passengers, etc. Personally, I welcome security, but this crosses a major line. I don't want people seeing all my lumps and bumps! (bad enough I have to see them every day!) And 'blurred faces' in the scans will also be corrupted some day by just a software update. Of course, they'll tell us that they need to track facial scans under the guise of 'security purposes' so if there ever is another 9/11, they can backtrack to any possible clues or suspects.

Yep, just wait till Big Brother Scanning Version 2.0, because it is coming.

Demonic forces causing manifestations?

Very creepy video 'virus' on the web:

Granted it's the Sun, of course, but it's also on YouTube and others as well. Very odd video. It seems to be legit, but it's so bumpy and unclear in spots it's hard to follow. But the first segment where the creature shows itself in front of the hills behind it, and the fact that it's very CLOSE to the photographer, unlike the usual UFO sightings, makes it very strange indeed.

Are demonic powers manifesting into something even more "real" to fool even more people the closer we get to the return of Christ?

Everyone knows about California's imminent splash into the Pacific ocean (LOL) but even those in the heart of the country aren't safe. Read on about growign recent earthquake activity in the midwest and Reno, Nevada:

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/04/080413184801.htm

"In the 17 years we’ve been monitoring the ocean through hydrophone recordings, we’ve never seen a swarm of earthquakes in an area such as this..."

Researchers have recorded more than 600 earthquakes in the last 10 days off the central Oregon coast in an area not typically known for a high degree of seismic activity.

And the New Madrid seismic zone in the Midwest:

And lest anyone forget, there is also the worrisome Yellowstone (Park) Caldera:

http://www.anthonares.net/2006/03/the-yellowstone-supervolcano-a-pulsing-malevolance.html

http://www.anthonares.net/Yellowstone_Caldera_map.gif

I've been hearing about what could be the "end of the world as we know it" if the Yellowstone caldera erupts full force, and it ain't pretty:

http://www.armageddononline.org/yellowstone_caldera.php

excerpt: Short only of meteorite impacts, a supervolcano explosion has the capability of reducing our grand civilization to a whimpering mass of starving creatures. Lying in the path of a massive eruption is the breadbasket of America, that in a very few years will also be sustaining a large fraction of the expanding world population. Cutting off that food supply will create a famine that the world has never seen, especially since most of the crops around the world would have a hard time surviving due to the extreme global cooling caused by the eruption. Wars would break out, hundreds of millions would likely die (if not more), and the world order will be forever shifted. The United States would be crippled, its vast wealth nothing without the sustenance provided by the land. Its neighbors, Canada and Mexico will be facing a crisis as waves of American emigrants struggle to find a new home. We talk about a post-9/11 world as if we’ve experienced a real catastrophe. Just imagine a post-Yellowstone world.

450-odd children seized from LDS camp

While I don't agree with their lifestyle or habits, and I DO feel they are a cult, as they do not adhere to true Biblical teachings, this has been a very challenging story for the country and the world, and myself.

To have so many children ripped from their mothers by SWAT teams in riot gear, with guns and a TANK, and the fact that the courts have now forced their adoptions by those other than families outside the LDS compound, and as this is the only life the children have ever known, this event will undoubtedly be the most tramatic and psychologically damaging thing that will ever occur in their young lives.

I feel that our government did this completely the WRONG way, and believe that they have now created long-term mental distress in over 450 children, PLUS their mothers and fathers, from which they may never recover. That's 450 children who will need long-term counseling, will always be resentful, will probably act out in all sorts of ways, causing even more damage to society overall. All in all, one hell of a mess.

THAT BEING SAID...they are now doing DNA testing on all of the children, for obvious reasons. So when a story like this comes along, it makes me hope and pray all the more that nothing like this has happened in that compound, because this is some sick sick stuff:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

WOW, it's 2008! This year sounds almost eerily futuristic and makes me think: 'omg-i-can't-believe-we've-even-made-it-this-far'. :)

As ever, the pundits and MSM all had their 'end of year/best of' lists for 2007, but one of the most telling articles came right from my own backyard: the Dallas Morning News, who nominated the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT as their 2007 "Texan of the Year." (and a version with comments by ME here)

For me, something about 2008 makes me think 'Something evil this way comes'...like something is just around the corner, and not in a good way. Christian persecutions? Of course. More bad weather? Probably. The economy taking a nosedive? Perhaps. Another terrorist attack? Dear Lord, I surely PRAY that there isn't another one--ever!--but from many of the reports and articles I've read over the past couple of years (some posted here) I believe 2008 is going to be a pivotal year...perhaps not only for the fact that the U.S. is choosing another 'leader of the free world,' which is quickly becoming less and less 'free' as we speak.

The presidential race is full of dark horses and unexpected turns, not the least of which were Barak Obama AND John Edwards beating out Hillary in Ohio, and Mike Huckabee beating out all the other GOP candidates in Ohio as well. Personally, were the elections to be held tomorrow, I would still be extremely hard pressed to choose someone whom I felt was qualified enough to be president as well as having them represent me and my views as a U.S. citizen. While Mike Huckabee has many qualities that I like, he has been somewhat soft and waffle-y on immigration (which is one of my personal top 3 issues, the other 2 being abortion and U.S. sovereignty). No matter who we choose, one thing is certain: we get what we deserve, and it could very well be an issue of not 'you snooze, you lose', but "you choose, you lose'!

Stay tuned...2008 looks to be a bit of a wild ride!

God help us if Hillary is elected

See, this is the thing. Who can stand up against this type of barbaric, hair-trigger, dangerous type of thinking? First it was a cartoon, now it's a TEDDY BEAR!!! And the teacher wasn't even the one to name it, it was named by one of her students, for cryin' out loud. And there was really no outcry or backlash in Kartoum until the MEDIA managed to whip up the local people into a frenzy.

Ms. Gibbons was "sentenced to 15 days in jail Thursday after she was convicted of insulting religion. She was cleared of charges of inciting hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs."

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING.

After all that people have done over the millenia against, about, and in the name of God and Jesus Christ--the blasphemies, the hatred, the utter contempt, the sinfulness and the total derision of the very creator of the universe, because humanity thinks it knows better--and these people get ticked off over naming a TEDDY BEAR??? My goodness...Christians should be rioting in streets around the world if we followed this mentality!

I'm sorry. I really try hard not to overreact when I read about things like this, but right now I'm thinking: these people are IDIOTS. They don't think. They don't even attempt to understand or think outside their tiny little confined Muslim boxes. They refuse to look at both sides. They have a mob mentality, they don't care about THE TRUTH, or listening to another viewpoint, like normal, rational people might do. No. Like rabid dogs, they simply react. They fly off the handle, blow things out of proportion, and actually call for someone's death, when all of this could have been fixed by nothing more than, oh, say...CALLING THE TEDDY BEAR BY ANOTHER NAME. There, problem solved.

But why stop there? If it's this bad from a cartoon or a teddy bear, then why allow human children to be named Mohammed? I mean,it seems logical to me that like it would be the MOST blasphemous thing, to name someone after their 'great prophet'; to think that a mere human could measure up to the name of the 'prophet'??? Why is that not an insult, but naming a stupid TOY BEAR 'Mohammed' cause enough to call for for someone's death?

It truly is complete ignorance and utter INSANITY. My prayers go out to poor Gillian Gibbons. I really hope that she can somehow get shuttled out of that country to somewhere safe.

Sheesh.

Would a candidate like this even stand a chance?

Probably not. But I might vote for him just because his views seem to let me follow my own conscience.

Huckabee: http://www.mikehuckabee.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Issues.Home

As for the other candidates?

Rudy: Although he may truly be the only candidate who can stand up to Hellary, he's pro-abortion. And I just can't go there.

Romney: Yep, I'm one of those who feel that his being a Mormon is just a little too spiritually creepy for me.

Thompson: The jury's still out on this one. He's definitely taking the low-key approach.

McCain: Unsure. Seems very short tempered. Makes me feel somewhat unsettled.

Duncan Hunter: Strong on being anti-illegal immigration which I like, but still mulling over this guy.

Alan Keyes: I've liked Alan Keyes' politics for awhile now, his views are very similar to my own. He gave a speech during the Clinton elections that was the first time a political speech had ever made me cry! But I fear there would be no way he'd ever win. Not because he's black, but because he's too conservative for many. Ok, and because he's black. Sad to say, but I'm still not sure the country is ready for that.

Ron Paul: Really like his views, as he's a strict Constitutionalist, but I didn't like his conspiracy theory that our government was somehow involved in the 9/11 attacks. That's just a little too wacky for me. But will keep an eye on him just the same. People definitely seem to love the guy.

Tom Tancredo: very strong on anti-illegal immigration; will have to check him out further.

Sarkozy Touts 'Mediterranean Union' Plan

Next comes the 'Mediterranean Union' then will come the N. American Union.

http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/oct2007/gb20071026_986338.htm?chan=globalbiz_europe+index+page_top+stories

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced his intentions to hold a summit in France next year to gauge opinion on whether it would be possible to establish a Mediterranean Union between Europe's closest neighbours. The French President had proposed such an idea before, but his idea has so far received a mixed response. Courtesy of Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, many Middle Eastern and North African states have already signed up to the European Neighbourhood Policy. The ENP offers participating states economic incentives in return for political and democratic reforms. Then there is what's known as EuroMed or the Barcelona Process, again the brainchild of Javier Solana. EuroMed serves as a catalyst for peace in the Middle East, by providing a "wide framework of political, economic and social relations between the Member States of the European Union and Partners of the Southern Mediterranean". But Sarkozy's plan for a Mediterranean Union would go much further than that, allowing Middle Eastern countries to set up a union similar to that of the European Union, which would promote peace and stability in the region.

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

Which is completely ironic and asinine, seeing as Mr. Gore is quite the energy hog, with his multi-room mansion, his SUVs, and all the travel for his myriad speaking engagements, all to talk about a "theory" that he touts as fact:

August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh -- consuming more than twice as much electricity in one month as the average American family uses in an entire year. Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

A firey backlash?

Could the raging fires in California have occurred as a Biblical 'response' to the Governator's passing of a bill removing the words 'mother,' father,' 'husband,' and 'wife' from school curriculums?

Something to think about.

Judge wants everyone in UK on DNA database

Now this is really scary, but is where it's all headed.

First they DNA profile convicts and prisoners, then the military, then potential suspects in crimes, then families of missing children...soon it'll be everyone.

Gay parade in SF depicts S&M 'Jesus & disciples'

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57831

"...during this event the city of San Francisco suspends the law and allows 'gay' men and women to parade the streets fully nude, many having sex – even group orgies – in broad daylight, while taxpayer-funded police officers look on and do absolutely nothing."

This is so sick and so disgusting. Hmmm...should Christians riot in the streets, breaking windows, smashing cars, and harming our fellow citizens? Why not? If this were done with the 'last supper' depicting Muhammad, blood would be running in the streets of San Francisco!

This is an abomination to our Lord Jesus Christ! We're given free will and this is what we do with it?
