Sure, if she were one of ours, not only would we have nominated her by acclamation, since she fulfills every trope of feminism except for her unfortunate and inexplicable opposition to murdering unborn children, we would also have made at least two TV movies about her life, celebrating her choice to have her fifth child and the announcement yesterday that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant and is going to marry the teenage father of her child. That's the kind of heartwarming, inclusive, empowering story we love -- she's like Juno come to life as Juneau, set in Mystery, Alaska.

But she's not a Democrat, which despite her va-va-va-voom appearance, means she's not really a woman, which is one of the reasons we've spent the past four days since McCain unveiled her trying to tear her limb from limb. Just because she's the governor of a state sandwiched between two obscure and unimportant countries, Canada and Russia, and spent more time in her first five minutes visiting American troops in Iraq than Evita Barry did during his entire Rainbow Tour, what could she possibly know about foreign policy? It's not like she's John Edwards or something.

So that's why we're having our Wellstone Funeral Moment at the moment. We mean well; we promised ourselves we wouldn't go over the top with our outright loathing of the Neanderthals who preach "Christian" values while practicing Wiccanism and child sacrifice and who hate black people and gay people and want to destroy the environment just because they can, and want to amass more money than even John Kerry or Jon Corzine or Herb Kohl or Jay Rockefeller or Dianne Feinstein -- the five richest senators -- or Ted Kennedy or John Edwards or Nancy Pelosi have. That, usually, is the Kos Kidz's job. Along with speculating exactly how Bush got from My Pet Goat to planting the depth charges that blew up the levees in New Orleans.

But sometimes the mask slips and you can see -- whoops! -- how much we hate you. Normally we're against hate in all its forms, and embrace tolerance as one of our defining moral attributes. But when it comes to you conservatives, well, with the best will in the world, we just can't tolerate you. You're elitist, you're judgmental, you're hypocritical, and we know that deep down you hate us even more than we hate you. Therefore, by any means necessary, we will defeat you this fall. The 'Savage' Nation - Michael Savage interview

While I don't always agree with Michael Savage ("The Savage Nation" radio show, and "savage" it is, at times), I know he's no dummy. He's multi-degree'd, has a very long and robust history, and most interestingly, was once a Democrat...until he saw the light. :) He touts himself as an independent, but I think he's independent with a right-leaning bent.

Here is an interview with Newsmax. Toward the bottom of the interview Savage has a couple of very observant things to say about Obama:

No Smoking Hot Spot!

I DEVOTED six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian Greenhouse Office. I am the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, in the land use change and forestry sector. FullCAM models carbon flows in plants, mulch, debris, soils and agricultural products, using inputs such as climate data, plant physiology and satellite data. I've been following the global warming debate closely for years.

When I started that job in 1999 the evidence that carbon emissions caused global warming seemed pretty good: CO2 is a greenhouse gas, the old ice core data, no other suspects. The evidence was not conclusive, but why wait until we were certain when it appeared we needed to act quickly? Soon government and the scientific community were working together and lots of science research jobs were created. We scientists had political support, the ear of government, big budgets, and we felt fairly important and useful (well, I did anyway). It was great. We were working to save the planet.

But since 1999 new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming, and by 2007 the evidence was pretty conclusive that carbon played only a minor role and was not the main cause of the recent global warming. As Lord Keynes famously said, "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?"

There has not been a public debate about the causes of global warming and most of the public and our decision makers are not aware of the most basic salient facts:

1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it. Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.
2. If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.
3. When the signature was found to be missing in 2007 (after the latest IPCC report), alarmists objected that maybe the readings of the radiosonde thermometers might not be accurate and maybe the hot spot was there but had gone undetected. Yet hundreds of radiosondes have given the same answer, so statistically it is not possible that they missed the hot spot.
4. Recently the alarmists have suggested we ignore the radiosonde thermometers, but instead take the radiosonde wind measurements, apply a theory about wind shear, and run the results through their computers to estimate the temperatures. They then say that the results show that we cannot rule out the presence of a hot spot. If you believe that you'd believe anything.
5. There is no evidence to support the idea that carbon emissions cause significant global warming. None. There is plenty of evidence that global warming has occurred, and theory suggests that carbon emissions should raise temperatures (though by how much is hotly disputed) but there are no observations by anyone that implicate carbon emissions as a significant cause of the recent global warming.
6. The satellites that measure the world's temperature all say that the warming trend ended in 2001, and that the temperature has dropped about 0.6C in the past year (to the temperature of 1980). Land-based temperature readings are corrupted by the "urban heat island" effect: urban areas encroaching on thermometer stations warm the micro-climate around the thermometer, due to vegetation changes, concrete, cars, houses. Satellite data is the only temperature data we can trust, but it only goes back to 1979. NASA reports only land-based data, and reports a modest warming trend and recent cooling. The other three global temperature records use a mix of satellite and land measurements, or satellite only, and they all show no warming since 2001 and a recent cooling.
   
7. The new ice cores show that in the past six global warmings over the past half a million years, the temperature rises occurred on average 800 years before the accompanying rise in atmospheric carbon. Which says something important about which was cause and which was effect.
   

None of these points are controversial. The alarmist scientists agree with them, though they would dispute their relevance. The last point was known and past dispute by 2003, yet Al Gore made his movie in 2005 and presented the ice cores as the sole reason for believing that carbon emissions cause global warming. In any other political context our cynical and experienced press corps would surely have called this dishonest and widely questioned the politician's assertion. Until now the global warming debate has merely been an academic matter of little interest. Now that it matters, we should debate the causes of global warming.

So far that debate has just consisted of a simple sleight of hand: show evidence of global warming, and while the audience is stunned at the implications, simply assert that it is due to carbon emissions. In the minds of the audience, the evidence that global warming has occurred becomes conflated with the alleged cause, and the audience hasn't noticed that the cause was merely asserted, not proved.

If there really was any evidence that carbon emissions caused global warming, don't you think we would have heard all about it ad nauseam by now? The world has spent $50 billion on global warming since 1990, and we have not found any actual evidence that carbon emissions cause global warming. Evidence consists of observations made by someone at some time that supports the idea that carbon emissions cause global warming. Computer models and theoretical calculations are not evidence, they are just theory.

What is going to happen over the next decade as global temperatures continue not to rise? The Labor Government is about to deliberately wreck the economy in order to reduce carbon emissions. If the reasons later turn out to be bogus, the electorate is not going to re-elect a Labor government for a long time. When it comes to light that the carbon scare was known to be bogus in 2008, the ALP is going to be regarded as criminally negligent or ideologically stupid for not having seen through it. And if the Liberals support the general thrust of their actions, they will be seen likewise. The onus should be on those who want to change things to provide evidence for why the changes are necessary. The Australian public is eventually going to have to be told the evidence anyway, so it might as well be told before wrecking the economy.

I've stolen the phrase "humiliate, not educate" from Dennis Prager, from just today. It might also be "humiliate, rather than illuminate."

Dennis states that after seeing the (chopped up) interview of Sarah Palin by Charlie Gibson, this is the not-so-new mantra of the mainstream media as it relates to anyone on the right, especially if that someone happens to be in the political arena (see my post on photographer Jill Greenberg).

Rather than being objective and impartial journalistically, the MSM blatantly chooses to skew and distort a person's words to fit their own agenda. "Gotcha" and phony questions about the "Bush doctrine" shows Mr. Gibson's own ignorance and philosophy, especially when Sarah Palin managed to stay calm and collected in her responses, rather than to lean over and throttle Mr. Gibson, which is what most of us would have done!

GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?

PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?

GIBSON: The Bush — well, what do you — what do you interpret it to be?

PALIN: His world view?

GIBSON: No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war.

Her behavior was described as "incredibly unprofessional" by James Bennet, the Atlantic's editor. Greenberg was unapologetic, stating "Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for [The Atlantic] to hire me."

The NAU - it's coming

The NAU, or, North American Union, is on its way to being reality! Borders are already being erased between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, forming one large "union" not unlike like the EU. Bush, Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, have already held a series of 3 secret meetings about this very issue, and have all signed agreements putting the wheels for this union into motion. A horrifying thught to be sure, but make no mistake, it's coming. PAY ATTENTION to the following terms, as they will soon become familiar:

The players (Cintra-Zachry of Spain) have already been chosen to build the enormous 12-lane superhighway called the "Trans-Texas Corridor" or the NAFTA Superhighway. There will be another Mexico-US-Canada highway called the "Canamex Corridor," that will start in Mexico City and enter the US through Arizona, ending in Edmonton, Canada. Note the very first sentence on the Canamex website: "Since its inception in 1995..." It's amazing that the left's favorite battle cry, "racism," is never given a long hard look in the mirror. It's as if racism, any form of racism, comes ONLY from the right (meaning, mostly whites), the right is the ONLY group that ever spews racists comments or thoughts, diatribes.

While I agree there are many whites who are blatantly racist about many people, what people don't understand is that JUST BEING HUMAN makes one racist to a degree. It's our sinful, impure human nature, and fear of the unknown, that gets in the way. What we don't know, we fear, and more times that not, fear is the seed of racism, amongst many other things.

By one merely saying that he or she isn't racist doesn't necessarily make it true. We're always going to have prejudices of one type or another. What we like/don't like, what we're comfortable or uncomfortable with, our way of life, how we were brought up, our politics and religious affiliations, how others differ from us...it's ENDLESS. However many don't understand this, so they continue to exacerbate the "only the right is racist" view, which is a stereotype in and of itself! • God tells us to pray for others, and to be kind and loving; satan tells his followers to "kill the infidels," and masquerades as a false--and violent--"religion of peace."
  
• Christ tells us to be like little children--innocent, open and trusting--in our love for Him; satan tells his followers to bloody their own children, to offer them up for martyrdom, and to fill their minds with hatred toward anyone who is unlike them.
• Christ elevates the status of women, as in Him there is "no male and female;" satan tells his followers that women are less than second class, barely human, should cover themselves from head to toe, and can be killed for the least little offense.

So, which would you rather belong to?

WOW! Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews have actually been DEMOTED!!!

This strikes a HUGE blow to two of the most incendiary and liberal mouthpieces in the MSM! :D

This just goes to show that Olbermann is one of those "journalists" (a term I use very loosely) who jump from one crisis to the next, and 9/11 is just another "story" that's over and done with, and now should be swept under the rug.

Oprah blows off Sarah Palin

I used to be an Oprah fan, back in the day when she was entertaining and informative, not as she is now, as the head of her own religion "Oprah-ism" where she tries to fix everyone and everything with her own ideas, philosophies and money. Yes, she is a very powerful force in the media, yes she is very rich, and I will say, very generous with her money, but this just show's Oprah's true color(s).

Oprah has issued a statement to TMZ -- she won't put Sarah Palin on her show until after the election. Here's the statement: "The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over." (For the record, Barack Obama has been on "Oprah" twice -- in January, 2005 and again in October, 2006 -- before he announced his run for Prez.)

One of the comments below the article states: "...Obama is the new Messiah...of Oprah's new religion that she espouses....." and it couldn't have been said more succinctly!
And I completely agree with this comment, which is probably what Oprah is hoping for: "After the election Palin will be entirely to busy as the VP to talk to Ms. O."
If Oprah were worth anything at all, she would be JUMPING at this opportunity to interview the FIRST FEMALE GOP VP CANDIDATE IN HISTORY.
But no. Not Oprah. She calls the shots, and she's as liberal as they come (and she's black, and lives in Chicago, so therefore she MUST vote for Obama, right?), so this does not surprise me.

But if you wanted to let The Big O know your own thoughts on her choice not to have Sarah Palin on her show, you can do so here.

Marriage...the way it SHOULD be?

In this day and age of free and open sex, birth control, easy abortions, and little thought about consequences, the thought of an arranged marriage seems hopelessly outdated and even crazy.

However, God may have another idea. That is, if we truly follow His teachings as shown in the Bible. It's a somewhat scary prospect, but who would know better about choosing a lifelong partner for you than God himself?

So what are the real "rules" about relationships? Let's look at 1 Corinthians 7:

Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6I say this as a concession, not as a command. 7I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

8Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

10To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

12To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

25Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord's mercy is trustworthy. 26Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are. 27Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife. 28But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.

32I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs—how he can please the Lord. 33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— 34and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord's affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. 35I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.

36If anyone thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if she is getting along in years and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married. 37But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin—this man also does the right thing. 38So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does even better.^[b]

39A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. 40In my judgment, she is happier if she stays as she is—and I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
