Washington state, being part of the Left(ist) coast, has now become the second state to approve and vote for death, i.e., euthanasia / assisted suicide.

Years ago when I was either a teen or in my 20s, I read a book that laid out a scenario of what the world was going to be like in the future if we stayed on the path we were on (perhaps it was "Late Great Planet Earth"). One of the items I remember reading about, but could not believe it might ever happen, was indeed euthanasia becoming legal in all its forms: for defective children, the sick, the elderly.

Executive Orders to watch for

Here are just a few Executive Orders that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen:

• EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

Here are later Executive Orders:

• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 12148 created the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that is to interface with the Department of Defense for civil defense planning and funding. An “emergency czar” was appointed. FEMA has only spent about 6 percent of its budget on national emergencies, the bulk of their funding has been used for the construction of secret underground facilities to assure continuity of government in case of a major emergency, foreign or domestic.
• EXECUTIVE ORDER 12656 appointed the National Security Council as the principal body that should consider emergency powers. This allows the government to increase domestic intelligence and surveillance of U.S. citizens and would restrict the freedom of movement within the United States and granted the government the right to isolate large groups of civilians. The National Guard could be federalized to seal all borders and take control of U.S. air space and all ports of entry.

SO VERY SAD TODAY

After a somewhat sleepless night, filled with all sorts of strange dreams, I awoke this morning with the cloud of dread and depression still hanging over me that began yesterday morning. My heart is heavy and my stomach is in knots over Obama's win. To say I am stunned beyond belief would be putting it mildly. But the people, in all their blindness and ignorance, have spoken. And they have elected one of the youngest and least experienced presidents ever, one who also happens to be THE MOST leftist president this country has ever known. Our founding fathers would be appalled to say the least. They never foresaw the country this way.

While I applaud Obama on his amazingly historical win, being the first black man ever to be elected POTUS, it will take me a very long time until I can say the words "President Obama" out loud. I feel as if I am in an alternate universe, or "Bizarro World" where up is down and down is up; right is wrong and wrong is right. I've never cared that Obama is black, in fact I never paid much attention to the fact; but what I did care about was his views, his votes, and his vision, all of which I feel are going to be very detrimental to this country. As such, I would like to add a quote from a friend's email sent this morning:

Every 4 years it seems we learn something new about the U.S. voting system, whether it's hanging chads or voting machine failures.

Now we hear that the system "can't cope" with a record larger-than-average turnout?

Two Black Panthers have stationed themselves outside a polling place in Pennsylvania, one swinging a nightstick, intimidating several voters. A quote from one of these thugs said "the black man will win no matter what."

NO MATTER WHAT. Think about that.

CITIZEN: we got a phone call that there was intimidation going on. i walked up to the door, two gentlemen in black panther guard, one brandishing a nightstick, standing in front of the door. they closed ranks as i walked up. i am a veteran, that does not scare me. i went inside and found full- watchers, they said they had been here for an hour — i went inside and found poll-watchers, they said that they had said not to let people outside because black people are going to win no matter what. at that point, i spoke to him, we would not get into a fistfight, i said, and i called the police.

In a quote I heard on Sean Hannity's radio program, another voter say, "I never thought I'd see this day! Now I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage..." Wow. Not sure what planet she's living on, but she is seriously misinformed.

Also, police across the country have been told to prepare for possible election night riots. Geez. It's like our country has suddenly become Mogadishu or Zimbabwe.

Today I am nervous

Today in the U.S., November 4, 2008, it's election day for the POTUS, and I am nervous. I feel like I have a dark cloud of dread hannging over my head.

The polls (as crooked as they are) continue to show Obama in the lead. I think it will truly take a miracle for McCain to win. If Obama wins the election, God help us. This country will be unrecognizable in four years. That is...if Obama lasts that long. Sad to say, but there are still many in the country who might not welcome the country being led by an African American man. Though if that happens, it won't make matters any better...we'd have to contend with a President Biden...and next in line to the throne after him is Nancy Pelosi. God save us from her!

So if Obama wins will there be rioting in the streets? Maybe...but it probably won't be by Republicans. It'll be by power-crazed Dummocrats reveling in their win, gloating and and trying to shove it in our faces.

If McCain wins, will there be rioting in the streets? Probably...but I bet it won't be by Republicans. Again it undoubtedly be by apoplectic Dummocrats half crazed with rage, and will probably get very ugly. If they lose, they will be screaming "foul" at the tops of their lungs for weeks to come.

I look back at 2000 and 2004. Both of those had the GOP on the losing end, but in the last minutes, we came back and won...though not by much, and amidst swirling controversy. I still think that Sarah Palin coming onto the scene isn't just some weird fluke, that God really does have something in store for her, though that might not be until 2012. By that time, if Obama doesn't run again (doubtful), she may be running against Hillary. Two women in the running for POTUS. That could be very interesting.

The way things have been going for the last 30 years, by the time the next election rolls around, people have become tired of whichever party is in power, and will elect the opposite party: Nixon/Ford(R), Carter(D), Reagan(R), Bush(R), Clinton(D), Bush(R)...so next will probably be Obama(D). Can we hang on for another 4 years? :(

No matter what anyone says, Bush is a good man

He's been derided, disparaged, distained, denigrated, laughed at, skewered, effigy'd, and hated outright, but the people who really know him, and the people who have met him and talked to him face to face, know that these are lies, and that President Bush is a very good man. He may not have been the wisest when it came to foreign affairs, or the most glib when it came to speaking in public, or the most polished when it came to being in public, but I cling to Bush's own quote from around 1998-1999 when he first made the choice of running for President. After much soul searching and prayer, he told his friends and family: "I think God wants me to be President." So run he did. And WIN he did. TWICE. God's leaders are many times not the leaders we want, or want them to be, but His way is the right way, and He only allows those to be leaders who He thinks we deserve. And only God knows things might have been different had Gore won the presidency, especially with 9/11 coming mere months into a first term.

Personally, I believe God raised up George W. Bush "for such a time as this." Our world, and our nation, are going mad. We need someone at the helm who will not waver, back down, crater, or crash and burn (unlike Clinton, who went down in flames, IMHO). They can say many things about George W. Bush, but one thing they can't say is that the man has no backbone. He has kept the country safe since 2001, and while he hasn't made everyone happy in the process, I believe he is just what this country needed over the last 8 years. I also believe that John McCain (and moreover, Sarah Palin, should it come to that) is the man who can continue our sense of safety and security in the face of growing globalization, lack of sovereignty, and U.N. enforced inclusion.

Remember what Christ said (John 15:18-21): "If the world hates you remember they hated me first."
